Swim lessons cont.

We headed back to swim lessons this week after a brief break. Thanks Grandma G for taking her swimming last time when Daddy wasn't feeling well! They had lots of new games and things to do. Johanna isn't still quite comfortable in the water, but she's getting the hang of it. Kicking the ball around the circle with her feet. (more like daddy kicking her feet). Swimming with a noodle tied around her. I thought this was a great idea to give them a little independence. I think Jo drank a little water. At one point she was lapping it up like a puppy. POPCORN!!!! This was by far Johanna's favorite activity. They went around in a circle singing a song and at the end yelled Popcorn. When they yelled popcorn, she was thrown in the air. She kept saying "Pop" and asking for more.

Shrine Circus 2009!

We headed downtown for the Tripoli Shrine Circus on Friday with our friends the Dwzinel's and Grandma and Grandpa Dwzinel. This year they had lots of tigers, but no lions. Wow watch him jump through the hoop of fire - oh, ah...
The tiger also walked on the balance wires - it was pretty cool. Maybe the most entertaining part of the tigers was thier handler. No shirt, hard rock music blaring, and lots of running around. At the end he jumped up on one of the props and shook the cage.
Mom and Jo at the circus. It's funny she even sat with me, because all she wanted to do was be with Erin. She followed her around the whole time we were there. Tada - Elephants
The human cannon ball - see him in the upper left hand corner flying through the air.
Now he's in the upper right hand corner (the little white line) diving towards the net. We had great seats since we sat with John's daycare - thanks for letting us hang out with you!
Jo on the way home - I think she was pooped out.
PS I wasn't driving and taking a pix at the same time - hehe

A winters walk

Since it warmed up a little Johanna, Jake, and I decided to hit the sidewalks for a winter walk. However, Jo couldn't leave her babies at home, so they bundled up too in the blanket and off we went.
This is another one of Jo's new "cheese" faces.

Playing with Elizabeth

Elizabeth and Val came over last week to play. At first Jo and Elizabeth just played side by side, but then Johanna discovered how much Elizabeth liked the baby doll and thought keep away was a better game. Jo would crawl away and Elizabeth would follow. Val and I just laughed. Jo in delight from her latest steal
Tug of war! Who will win? Elizabeth looking in disgust at us and wondering who will help
After doll chasing, Elizabeth discovered the eye lashes on another baby doll and loved them.
I love how Johanna has her arm around Elizabeth - she's going to be such a caring big sister.

Raod Trip to MN

We took a little road trip to MN for Baby Ben's Baptism. We went with G & G Gaumond and Aunt Chris. On the way we had a few stops. At one point we stopped at McDonald's and Tom got a shamrock shake. He didn't think Johanna could drink from the straw, but once she got a sip of the shake, she wouldn't give it back. It was really funny. She would only give the shake to me and we think she drank about half the shake.
When we were staying with Bill, Susan, Caitlin, and Ben, Johanna and Caitlin's favorite thing to do was to jump on the blow up bed. I took a few pictures of them, but unfortunately they didn't turn out.

On Sunday, Ben was baptized.
Grandma and Jo - such a cute pix!

It's really a boy!

Today I volunteered to be an OB Model with GE Medical Systems. When I got there 3 doctors were being trained on the 3D4D ultrasound machines. I had the "International Team" of doctors from Germany, Brazil, and Argentina. They even took another picture of his you know what and I didn't even ask.
A profile pix of our little boy. They cloned out the rest of the picture to focus on him.
In this pix he has his eye open - they were supirsed to catch him with his eyes opening and closing.

Johanna's 1st Zoo Class - Love Bugs

Johanna had her 1st Spring Zoo Class today. It's a class for 2 yr olds called Love Bugs. At first she just wandered around the room from station to station, but then she got into painting and stamping. There were lots of things to do - dig for bugs, crawl in the ant hole, read and do puzzles in the bee hive, and lots of crafts! They even had circle time - they sang songs, read a story, and ate a bug snack.
Johanna liked to find the lady bugs in the dirt.
I think Lady Bugs might be her favorite! She painted and painted for a long time all by herself - as long as she didn't have to wear a smock.
Crawling in the ant hole. She played with 2 other boys in the ant hole chasing each other. They giggled and laughed.
Jo stamped lots of bugs on her paper. We even brought home a couple more projects to complete at home - a butterfly antenna and wings.

Cruising on her Trike

Johanna loves her new trike she got from G & G Maloney for her B-day. Her legs aren't quite long enough to stay on the peddles yet, but she loves to be pushed around the house.
Grandma found me new bird squeaker for my bike when she was in FL.
Beep Beep here I come. Jo loves to ring the bell again and again. Peek A Boo
That doesn't look too comfortable.

Visiting G & G Maloney

After going to see the plays - Runaway Bunny and Good Night Moon with the Ketelboeters, we visited G & G Maloney. Johanna helped Grandma make dinner and do the dishes.
Such silly girls.

An afternoon at the zoo

On Sunday, I begged Tom to take us to the zoo since it was so nice outside. Finally after Johanna said "zoo" a few times he agreed. Our 1st stop was the Ape house. Tom was trying to convince Jo to sit on the other side of the baby ape. But I thought this was a cute pix of Tom -hehe Jo patted the monkey on the head and then identified his nose, mouth, and eyes for us.
Johanna and Tom checking out the mandrills - we'll at least Tom. Jo was busy watching the other kids passing.
Jo liked to watch the spider monkeys swing across the top of their cage and eat a little snack.
This spider monkey was all over the place. Johanna was all about walking everywhere by herself - Miss Independent.
She loved to walk around the fish house and tell us "more" to go to the next tank.
Mommy's big girl!
Johanna greeted everyone who walked by us with a big "HI!" And if they didn't notice or respond, she said it again until they did. It was very cute!
Check out the hippos eating dinner. We also got to see the elephants eating apples.
