Getting Ready for Summer

On Friday we pulled out the water table and invited Elizabeth to come over and splash in the water with us. They both loved it!!!
What a face! Mmm - what can I do next? Who can I splash?
Jo and E were both taking little sips of the water.
The girls were hysterical splashing in the water table. They both were giggling and screaming in delight. It was so cute!! It made both Val and I laugh too.
Mmm - fish
Lots more screaming -
Both the girls were soaked!!!

Baby Elizabeth's Birthday Bash

We had a kids Birthday Bash for Baby E. She turned 1 on April 23rd!! E loves ladybugs - so that was the theme. Johanna and I brought ladybug cupcakes and Erin and the kids made decorations. Making ladybugs - Johanna actually was really into putting the dots on her ladybug all by herself. It's not usually her cup of tea.
Erin helping Elizabeth with her ladybug Elizabeth loves books - Erin, Lily, and John gave her a great farm book. She was very curious to see what the animals said.
John testing out E's new blocks.
Johanna having some balloon fun in between opening presents.
Val reading to Jo and Lily
Our ladybug cupcakes - Johanna loved to sample them. Before they made it to the party, Jo got into them a little. Mmmm
Happy Birthday to You Elizabeth!!!
What a cutie
John was excited about the "cake". That's his favorite part of parties - he ate 2 cupcakes.
Jo patiently waiting for her cupcake.
Lily making a cupcake ball with her cupcake.
Tada - I am done with my cupcake!!
Johanna found cupcake pieces in Elizabeth's highchair and started snacking away. I had to distract and turn the chair around so she wouldn't keep eating out of the seat.
E was covered in cupcake - even her socks were full of cupcake.
The party wrapped up with story time and gift bags. How fun!! Everyone was ready for a nap after the party.

So tired!!

Johanna sometimes will fight going to take a nap or going to sleep at night now that she is in her big girl bed. This particular day she refused to nap, so we were having a snack. As I was picking up the kitchen I noticed that she was very quiet. When I looked over she was out cold sitting at the table. She didn't even wake up when I put her in her bed.

Easter Morning

The Easter Bunny brought Johanna a Easter basket full of goodies - stuffed bunny, books, and little Mr. Potato Head Egg.
Johanna found her basket and was excited to see what was in it.
She loved her bunny.
Looking for Easter Eggs - I think there is one in her pot.
Mmm, what's in here?
Johanna with her basket and bunny. Now it's time to see what's in her eggs - little Daisy cookies and chocolate eggs.
Time to get dressed - Johanna decided that her bunny needed to get a diaper change. She grabbed her changing pad, wipes, and cleaned up the bunny. It was very cute.

Johanna and I posing for a pix.

Dyeing Easter Eggs

Tom, Johanna, and I dyed Easter Eggs on Saturday. She was very helpful, but it was also a little stressful. Not too much dye spilled, but Johanna wanted to do it all herself. Stirring up the color tablets.
Daddy helped to make sure the tablets were fully dissolved.
Johanna telling me which color to put the eggs in.
Helping dunk the eggs into the color cups.
Getting ready to spin some Easter Eggs.
Johanna loved to see the egg spin really fast.
Time to take the eggs out-
Steady as you go...
Here are our eggs - so pretty.

Baking Egg Shaped Brownies

Johanna and I decided to make egg shaped brownies for Easter. She loves to help in the kitchen.
Jo is actually very good at cracking eggs - somehow she doesn't get shells in the bowl.
Mixing it all together. Johanna wasn't very happy when she had to let me help stir.
Licking the spoon. Watching the brownies bake.
Enjoying a brownie. Jake was slowly sneaking in to get a bite, but it didn't work.
